Digi has officially launched its phone bundling packages. A summary of the 4 packages available.
I have did my part by checking with my friend who is a respectable mobile phone seller/distributor in Malacca. The price offered by Digi's phone bundling packages are indeed a bargain compared to Maxis' or Celcom's phone bundling packages. While the savings with DG50 plans are not much, the price difference skyrockets when you opt for the higher commitment fee packages. Even with the cheapest plan and 12 month contract, you can save at least RM10-RM20 (with Sony Ericsson W760i). The price listed with the plans are very close to the street price of these four phones. Hence, if you are thinking of getting any of these four phones and have at least a minum of RM50 phone call/sms usage, one should take up the plans offered by Digi. They are not earning much from you even with the DG50 plan. Digi's phone bundling plan is indeed a good deal. However, they could have introduce more phones to the market rather than these four which don't seem to be a popular choice. Oh well, you can't get the best of both worlds, right?
